Minions Targeting
How do minions decide what enemy to target? do they attack whomever you happen to be targeting at the time? I am wondering for SS builds or other skills where the target takes damage and it is spread to other foes.
Also, which minions do you generally find yourself using, and is there much benefit giving heroes more then 1 summon power?

Minions target whoever the MM targets, but I think they are similar to the aggressive setting on heroes so if they are attacked, they would attack that target back.
Fiends have much better targeting because they are ranged. The melee minions are more for meat shields and bombs.

Im pretty sure i rmeber reading somewhere they attack the closest foe with the least health/armour. The best minion skill is [animate bone minions] as it provides low level low AR minions that can effectivley hold aggro, though heroes are better as a mm than players.

I doubt that. They do follow the MM targeting unless they are distracted. Also bone minions make great minion bombs, but they are hardly the best meat shields or damage since they are weak and low level. If they face a tough mob, they pop like balloons and your meat wall just disappeared, so dont expect them to stick around for long.

They follow the MM's target unless they are already aggroed. (even then I have seen them switch target occasionally to the target the MM is designating) This is why a fiend-based MM needs to lead into the battle. Be ahead of the minions and wand the target...and keep wanding the target.

In HM level 13 minions seem to go down just as fast as the rest (except the Golem) so since you get 2 for one with them they are the best for both keeping up your army, bombing and jagged bones. As stated above though, heroes are the best jagged minion bombers

Level 13 bone minions are:
5 levels lower than the rest,
100hp lower than the rest,
33AL lower than bone horrors.
..so there IS a significant difference between them even in HM.
Bone minions make good cheap bombs, but dont expect much of a meat wall from them.

Use search; I've got a loooong post somewhere describing in detail how the minions pick their target.

Nope, that combination isn't good. Use fiends + bone horrors if you want the physical MM effect.
